Control pitch and tempo independently
This is a very functional and useful tempo/pitch DSP plugin. You can alter the tempo and pitch independent of one another...so, you can have the song's BPM be one thing, and you can have the song's pitch be something completely different. The 'speed' lever also gives some interesting results. There is a preferences menu where you can set slider precision as well as hotkey increments. The interface is very straightforward and useful, not very impressive visually...but, it gets the job done

It's a TOTAL BUMMER, that recording the "changed" audio properties, to a new mp3 file is not available. Please consider this for the next version. Thank-You.

First, get the far more recent version at the author's website: http://sky.prohosting.com/oparviai/pacemaker/I'm a guitar teacher, I prepare the young artists whose music you'll groove with someday. This plugin is part of the software I require students to install and download. I use it on my laptop in the teaching room all day every day, it has been stable and trouble-free. I also recommend Loop Master, LYRC and Lyric3, and PowerTab from http://www.power-tab.net to complete my Required Software package. My compliments to the author.

A great piece of invention

I have used this plugin now for the last 12 months as i am a dance teacher i found that i cant do without it now. The fact that i can alter the speed as it plays is a great help for me. Get this now if you need to alter speed or pitch for your work or just to have fun.

All of the other tempo/pitch plugins I have evaluated sound like flangers. PaceMaker sounds great.The only down-side is that it is not free. This one is worth the money.

A musician NEVER wants to retune his instrument song after song when playing along with a recording (i.e. learning the music).This plug-in allows YOU to manually adjust the pitch of the mp3 file in a small fraction of the time you'd need to re-tune a guitar.The only thing missing is AUTOMATION. It should pre-view the next song in your playlist so it knows how much the next songs must be adjusted so it's in tune with the previous one (and your guitar).It's a REAL DRAG, to come back to the computer (from the fire-pit) when the next song is out of tune with your guitar ...Still, it's a GREAT program for every musician who plays with

Oh....wow.....it.....sucks...wow! Get a Soundblaster Audigy 2 Zs like me and THEN you'll say WOW!!!!! No actually you'll say: OMFG HOW COULD I HAVE GONE ALL THESE YEARS AND DOWNLOADED ALL THESE SHI**Y FU**IN STUPID PLUGINS TRYING IN VAIN FOR GOOD SOUND WHEN I COULD HAVE JUST BOUGHT A GOOD SOUND CARD AND SPEAKERS!!!! AHHHHHH....MY LIFE FULLFILLED NOW, I ONLY WISH I COULD TELL ALL THE OTHERS THAT SEARCH FOR PLUGINS TO JUST STOP THE MADNESS AND GET A SOUNDBLASTER!!!!!! Actually you'll SCREAM exactly that when you stop FU**IN AROUND and get a good sound card!

Hi "Anyone",If you are reading my review. My feedback is 1000 out of 100 to this plug-in.I am a singer and every song that I listen or want to practice is mostly sung in a higher scale(pitch) than what I have naturally. This plug-in has given me the freeness to drop the pitch to my scale and practice the songs along with any singer.The tempo functionality will always help a musician to properly listen to the notes played. And hence no confusion on notes.I personally thanks the makers of PaceMaker. I should say its name should be Place Maker .... it will definitely help any singers to break their barriers and go wherever they want.Thanks,Vivek Pohre

Como bajista es una herramienta indispensable. Solo tienes que subir el pitch hasta el final y puedes escuchar mucho mas claro la linea de bajo de cada cancion. Traten de integrarlo m?s a la interface de Winamp; que no sea una ventana suelta. Felicitaciones!.

I've had no problems with this tool. As a guitarist/singer, this plug-in provides the means to analyze , remove vocals, and personalize the music. The interface seemed straightforward and functional to me. Very handy to have around!-Rich

Bad and unstable

It doesn't sound really good, but when stopping playback or restarting it, winamp 2.9 quits with an error message.Unusable.

Excellent! This is exactly what I was looking for. I use it to adjust the songs pitch so I can play guitar to the music without having to re-tune it after every song. Thumbs up!

I never laughed so much with my favourite songs, it's really great... But... I like hearing all that stuff as it was meant to be heard... At normal speed and pitch! So, even though I find it funny, I don't expect to use it all the time, so put a *CLOSE* button (and a better and resizable Winshade) on the damn thing... And make it skinnable, please??

with the quality slider turned up to full, audio quality is nearly perfect. i really like the addition of scaling by steps instead of octave fractions. excellent work.

This is the one! This extraordinary plugin can easily compete with products made for musicians. Very accurate algorithm for tempo control. The other winamp plugin 'Chronotron II' does not have this accuracy - by far! 6 stars.

I was looking for a tool to allow change in tempo w/ochanging the pitch and found PaceMaker. I really like thelayout and the way you can change pitch and tempo independently or together. It was very stable, meaning it never crashed Winamp. However it was "jumpy" meaning, every time that I put a small load on my computer (copying a file, opening a window, etc) there was a brief but audible change in tempo. Now I'm jusing Chronotron II (dsp_chrono) which doesn'thave that problem. It'll only allow you to change tempothough, not pitch.

Hey Olli:Crashes my WinAMP, consecutively, no other plugins active. Win98 system. I'll keep the install when my new computer arrives so I can try it on that, but for my little closet computer it's the first DSP/Effect I've found that crashes WinAMP. It does so when I click play.
