Use your Direct X audio plugins with Winamp (you'll need Windows Media Player 9 for this to work)
This is a great DSP plugin that allows you to use your DX audio plugins with Winamp. AdaptX lets you set up an efx chain with multiple plugins... you can then move plugins around in the chain, bypass individually, or bypass all. You can even save efx chain presets. An extremely useful tool for those that have a nice collection of DX plugins. The only bug I encountered is that the AdaptX window doesn't seem to be able to close... even right clicking and saying 'close' doesn't do anything. (I'm running win2k). This isn't really a big deal, but, it would be nice if it worked.

But there is one problem, You can close the window now, but whe winamp 5.05, when you minimize the winamp window and re-open it, change windowshade states, move the window, or pritty much do anything to winamp, adapt-x decides it needs to open again.This does a great job of chaining the presets and the quality is amazing, If the human interface issues could be addressed, I would actually *USE* this plugin.

A great idea....being able to use high quality dx plug-ins is great, but, for the $19 bux they want for this, they have got to get the funky, \\\'windows that open , but don\\\'t close\\\' situation ironed out....and clicking the \\\'plus\\\' to bring up the list of available dx plug-ins comes up underneath the active plug-ins window, more window funkiness....I also had winamp (v. 5) crash on me with some error message that I didn\\\'t catch, but that wasn\\\'t necessarily the adapt-X plug-ins doing ( I think lol)

Just like the 3.5 version as far as I can tell, but will set you back 19 bucks US. That said, it is worth it and then some. As a shoutcast DJ that needs some compression to keep things saine, this plug in with Waves Rcomp is just perfect.

The Plug-in works great. Very good if you do a gret deal of music editing.It allows you to try different combinations before actually editing your material since WinAmp gives the ability to jump from place to place in your files. Not for everyone. One drawback is the short trial period.
