Well yes, it works, but there is more flexible and usable plugins. eg. "SendTo"..

I copy music files to a ramdisk , then play them with Winamp directly from RAM. This saves a lot of wear and tear on the hard drive, and means less hesitation, stuttering, etc as program access to the music file is instantaneous. This plug in allows easy access to Windows explorer functions of copy, delete, etc, and makes it easy to copy to ramdisk before playing. Windows explorer will do the same thing, of course, but that involves more steps, and is more clumsy. I have also found that using a two-pane Windows Explorer shell program like FreeExplorerdoes the same job just as well, perhaps better, and has more functions, It integrates easily with Winamp through right-click menus.Just copy files to ramdisk, select them all, right-click and choose "play in Winamp". The files are added to Winamp playlist and playback is started.

Doesn't work with 5.5 version anymore..

Hi everybodyI was very happy with this plugin in earlier versions of winamp, but now that 5.5 version has come with an end for this nice add. It just appears in the menu 'Send to' but it doesn't send anyhing at all; even HDD or USB. If anyone read this, please let me know if there's an update available.I'm 98% happy with the 5.5 Winamp version, but this plugin saves me a lot of time to send files by net use.Thank you all!

I have a car that reads my usb drives so this plugin is AWESOME. I can send files or whole playlist to my thumb drive and listen my favorite songs as I drive! Awesome plugin.Mikael Stadden

Wish winamp came with this

Perfect if you want to put music from your playlist onto a flash drive. Winamp has a feature similar to this now, but it makes folders and takes forever to do it. I don't want the folders, because one of my mp3 players won't play the tunes if they are in folders. This was exactly what I needed. Simple, easy, and works flawlessly.

i can see only my hard drives!!

i install it, and only shows my hard drive and the restage drive. i can?t see the cd-rom driver and the others removable devices... i?m using win 98 and a classic skin... it could influence?

Most essential Plugin at Winamp

Of all the Plugins in Winamps vast library this is the most usefull. In fact, I call it essential and find it curious that Winamp hasn't just integrated the concept into it's release. Go figure. Get gUSB.

I get a generic "transfer failed" error when I try to use this to transfer mp3 files to my Creative Zen Vision:M. Winamp 5.21 and WinXP Pro, if it makes any difference.

Pretty much perfect. Finally gives you full ML and "send to:" access to/from all of your drives and usb portables. I was always irked that winamp couldn't do this by itself. ML even tells you your storage capacity and bytes free, which explorer won't do with my SanDisk Sansa without going into the properties. And so far, it seems to be stable! Very useful and cool plug-in!

this is great! i don't have to use musicmatch jukebox to load songs onto my RCA mp3 player anymore 'cause i love winamp, its the best player ever and this plug-in makes it even better, thanx.

A great idea, but there are two things missing before I will consider the plugin really useful: possibility to create a directory on the device and automatic organising according to artist/album, ie if I send a song to the device, I want it to be stored aa x:\MUSIC\artist\album\file.ogg. When this functionality is added, the plugin will be perfect.

Very usdeful but doesn't behave as expected...... I hope than can recgonize a generic Mp3 player like it is. NOt as a Devicebecuase i really wanted to mange the device on Winamp,

Just what i needed...

I wanted to use winamp as my primary player and I needed to find a way to load my mp3 player using winamp... Once winamp recognized my samsung player, I was home free... this plug-in was just what the doctor ordered!!! It's a very simple way to make winamp communicate with any outside device, if that is what you need, then this is the plug-in you are looking for... -Rich

With security being one of the largest agendas to fall on the table near the end of this year my first question is who left the door unlocked. I do congratulate French innovation for a well rounded piece of work. However this plugin allows winamp to directly access elements of your system not normally available. Before making use of this plugin I was limited to telling winamp where to look for my music. Now I can directly access nearly any file on my hard drive. This looks like a potential security risk in an otherwise decent plugin
