The Albumlist plugin for the modern skin.
Even though the Media Library will do for most people, this little plugin gives a different perspective on your music collection. It will also start your music where you left of when you last closed Winamp.

The best plugin ever, but it causes winamp to crash when I opened the preferences! And I'm not the only one! I use Winamp 5.531. Hopefully it will be corrected so that it will do it's function....

This would be an awesome pulg-in, but it is still not doing what you expect from such a pulg-in: Display your album folders together with the cover and to display a songlist of every album if you click on it. It would also be nice if one could group the albums (not the single songs) according to music style. Unfortunately Winamp also crashed after installing the plug-in when I open Winamp's preferences. As a result, I returned to the old Plug-In "Dynamic Library" which still works much better for me.

...I just wish I could sort a little more. Artist>Year is a good start, but I'd like to be able to sort by path>artist>year, for example (I just don't like how "various artists" gets thrown in with the rest of the "V" artists, and for file sorting purposes I have albums and compilations separated). A few more options like that would be excellent, and would make this a perfect plugin. My suggestion would be to have drop-down menus in the Preferences window that allow the user to pick a few options for sorting instead of (in addition to?) the right-click menu.

Don't bother if you don't sort your mp3's into "album" folders, or include the album title in your mp3 names. I don't use either of these sorting conventions and thus found that Album List didn't provide me with a useable list. However, I don't give it a zero rating for that... I give it a zero rating because my Winamp is now screwed up as a result of installing this plug-in. It crashes every time I open Winamp's preferences. What a piece of junk.

Works with 2.91 and 5.5. No need for me to bother with that iTunes junk any more - what I liked about iTunes is all taken care of with this plugin for my preferred, FLAC-supporting, player.

If you have alot of full CDs on your computer and use winamp, this is the plug-in you have been looking for. After using this plug-in for around four months now I must say, without Album List 2 I could never use winamp again. I have about 46GB of music and hate loading just one CD at a time, so I had a 10000+ song playlist. That sucked hard so I started looking for a solution to my problem and found this little gem.THIS PLUG-IN ROCKS SO HARD! It does everything I ask it to, it does just what it said it did and does it well. I was close to giving up on winamp but not any more. THIS NEEDS TO BE BUILT IN WITH WINAMP FROM NOW ON!This plug-in gave me a new window to play with. The new window loads all of my music CDs from my selected music folder and will now show the info I choose to display in my list.The info I like to show is as followed, Artist name, CD title, Release year, Number of songs & total album run time. There is more info you can have it display and it will show whatever info you want, whatever way you want.The built in playlist window is now used for showing the tracks of the CD you choose from the Album List. The built in playlist works the exact same as it allways has.

Pretty awesome, but...!

This is definitely what Winamp needs, and makes listening to & browsing music a joy when you have all your album artwork in your collection.But beware the "Cache Covers" option (as of v2.06)! With just over 1,000 albums, each with their cover art (both in folder.jpg and embedded within each track), enabling "Cache Covers" causes winamp to freeze for up to 10 minutes when attempting to quit (otherwise a ctrl-alt-del to kill it). It will do this every time (implying it's trying to re-cache always upon exit, rather than use any old cache... or perhaps it's failing to create the cache each time).Disabling the cache doesn't cause this problem and it runs fine without the cache option, displaying album art extremely quickly each time... it's just that one problem just steals half a point from a 5 rating! Highly recommend this plugin to anyone!

I posted a comment on Jan. 7th, 2007 and would actually like that deleted. I have no idea why I had some trouble setting this neat plug-in up at first, but it works perfectly fine since. I like the visual of being able to select from all the neat thumbs, it's like selecting directly from my CD shelf. A very useful addition to the WinAmp library. Keep up the good work!Suggestion: In a future version I would like Album List to enhance the possibility to jump to a certain album, or to certain artists (in thumbs view). The way it works now it directly starts to play a certain album (which is not what "jump to" means). When you have 2,500 or more albums it's sometimes a bit tricky to search a particular album via the scroll bar only. So, the 'searchability' should probably be enhanced.

I enjoy this plug-in. It makes your music library seem like it has character by listing out the album covers. I enjoy opening winamp to this view all the time.Although, this version crashes when you view it in the preferences menu if you're running windows vista.you can go to their site and download the latest version that has a fix for it, though. And media library integration in the newer version, as well.

This is just perfect... I did not know this plug-in, this is all i have been looking for ever since I used Winamp 2. Great job, it should be included in the upcomming versions of winamp.

But well worth having. There was something special about looking through your record collection before Cd's and looking at all the covers. This brings back some of that enjoyment. Get it, it works well and is very easy to set up. Once set up just double click the album cover and your music playing.

Winamp crashed repeatedly

After installing the plug-in, it took a long time to scan all my albums (approx. 2,300 as of yet). Trying to configure th plug-in, WinAmp crashed repeatedly. I wasn't able to call the cover thumb view promoted here, or edit any other details. I'm not sure whether my rating is justified, but right now I'm disappointed.
