This Works in: VISTA x64XP x64And all the other flavors of Windows just fine!Get one of these old X10 remotes on ebay for $10. (must have serial port) It's the cheapest remote you can get, and one of the only wireless remotes that doesn't use IR. So you can use it around the house without having to be in direct line sight. I really love this remote and app. There seems to be very few cheap wireless remotes that work in winamp. If you know of one, let me know. But this is the best cheapest solution for having a remote on your computer. This software also lets you use the remote as a mouse too. It's great.

I was very happy when I upgraded to Windows x64 and this STILL WORKED!I was thinking this is the only hardware I would have to live without, but luckily it worked like a champ.1. Install your X10 remote receiver in the Serial port. Windows will see it as a "microsoft serial mouse" in device manager. Disable it2. Run the Max10 app and put it into your startup 3. Enjoy it with winamp 2.9X it will not work with winamp 5, unless the wonderful programer adds support for it. :)

First download the newest one at his webpage, (http://max10.sourceforge.net/download.html)And IF you have an X10 Remote for the computer, you HAVE to get this. The problem is the drivers included with this remote, you can't really "use" them with Winamp. They work fine in Windows, if you don't mind your mouse setting screwed up. And when you use some other Winamp Plugin you can't really "use" it in Windows. You can't use both the included software and Winamp Plugins!!! This software solves all those problems and more. You can use this software in windows, and run things like PowerDVD, IE, etc.. well basically anything! And you can use it in Winamp at the same time. I can from my couch, turn on and off Winamp! Also this software doesn't mess with the MOUSE settings like to many other crappy software does. X10 should hire this guy to redo their drivers! It's FREEWARE too! I have an MS Optical Mouse(USB) and the only complaint is that I can't use the PS2 port, and I have to use the Serial/Com port. Which is not this guys fault, X10 won't tell him how. That's a pretty lousy complaint though. You NEED this software if you have an X10 remote. It's a tiny bit troublesome to set up, if you have already installed the crappy X10 drivers/software. But he has an FAQ and that answers every question. You just install his software, Press a button on the remote, and select what you want it to do in Winamp etc.. or what software program you want to run, etc... It's great. IT takes like 5 minutes to set all the buttons for Winamp, but it's worth it. I got this mouse/remote as part of the coolest HTPC (Home theater Personal Computer) system on earth. From HTPC Extreme Inc. (www.hifihtpc.com) They informed me of these drivers. Thanks to both HTPC, X10, and Colin for making an almost completely useless remote, totally ROCK!
